4 Life-Saving Bathroom Organization Tools

Most of us struggle to keep the bathroom neat and tidy. Whether it’s a bathroom that you have all to yourself, or one that you share with a partner or children, it’s bound to get messy at times. Most people keep a great deal of supplies in the bathroom; learning better bathroom organization techniques requires you to tackle these supplies, and to learn how to create order in this space.

First, you’ll need to create a mess in order to create order. While this may sound counter-intuitive, going through the mess is the only way to figure out what you have, and what you need to get rid of. Look at all of the supplies that you have in the bathroom, and consider whether or not you’ve used them in the last three months. Bathroom organization means that everything that isn’t being used at the moment should be stored elsewhere. See if you can store extra items in a linen closet, in a storage area, or somewhere else where it won’t be intrusive and where it can be accessed when needed. Items that you simply don’t use at all – throw away!

Once you’ve accomplished this task, it’s time to consider bathroom storage organization tools that will help you to organize the items you’ve held onto. These tools will create instant bathroom organization and will help you, even if you aren’t a particularly tidy person, to keep things in a specific place in the bathroom.

  1. Laundry Hampers – This may seem obvious, but the laundry hamper is an essential item to keep in the bathroom. If you have two hampers, one for light clothing and one for dark, you’ll be able to immediately organize the dirty clothing and have it ready to be cleaned. The bathroom laundry hamper ensures that clothing doesn’t stay on the bathroom floor for days, and that your items are neatly put away and in order for washing. You may also decide to have a hamper in your bedroom, or in the laundry room, but the bathroom laundry hamper is definitely advisable.

  2. Laundry Hamper
  3. Shower Baskets – Take all of your bathing items and have them together in the shower with a shower basket. The shower basket is an easy-to-install bathroom hardware item that keeps your soap, shampoo, razor, shaving cream, and other bathing items all in one place. This ensures that you never get into the shower without your supplies – and that you never slip on the supplies that you’ve placed on the bathroom floor or on the shower floor.

  4. Cosmetic Drawer Organizers – No bathroom organization is complete without a cosmetic drawer organizer – or many! These organizers are the key to keeping the bathroom drawers tidy and manageable. Install a cosmetic drawer organizer in every drawer in the bathroom, and then mentally decide what should go into each drawer. Perhaps your grooming supplies should go into one drawer, your make-up will be in another, your medicines will be in a third, etc.

  5. Cosmetic Drawer Organizer

  6. Wicker Baskets – Finally, use wicker baskets for almost anything in the bathroom! Wicker baskets are lovely to look at, and a great place to contain any extra mess in the bathroom. Under the sink, most people have oodles of supplies and extra disorganized items. Purchase three to four wicker baskets and put all of your supplies into one basket. Indicate the purpose of each basket, and try to fill it strictly with items that fit into that category. Wicker baskets can, similarly, be used on the counter to store cotton balls, q-tips, make-up, grooming supplies and so much more.

The hardest part of bathroom organization is the decision to begin. Once you’ve committed to cleaning up the space, and you’ve gotten rid of all of the extra supplies that you don’t use, your task is almost complete. After that hard work is accomplished, these four bathroom storage organization tools will help you to further tidy up the space and create order. Then, it’s time to start a bubble bath, sit back and enjoy a job well done!
